Brooke Bergin has always loved playing with and teaching young children! She studied at Brigham Young University and earned a degree in early childhood education. She taught kindergarten for a few years before staying home to raise her family. Good children’s books have always been one of her loves (you should see her home library!) as well as music (she enjoys playing the piano and singing).
Brooke is thrilled to be able to share great books AND sing all the fun songs of childhood with the many cute kids who come to storytime here at the Orem library. Her desire is to raise up the next generation to LOVE reading and call it a hobby.
Ever since she was a little girl, telling stories, reading books, playing “imagination”, and writing her own adventure stories have been Amy Carr’s very favorite things to do. Finding the opportunity to do all of those things as a storyteller at Orem Library is a magical dream come true!
Amy has also found magic as an elementary teacher and administrator with degrees from Brigham Young University and has shared her love of literacy at several elementary schools and libraries in Utah County. But her most magical adventure continues to be with her husband Chris and their 5 amazing children!
Kristine Baird is passionate about nurturing, music, storytelling and children, so becoming a storyteller at the Orem Library is a perfect union of all her greatest loves. Kristine has taught children in every age group from babies and toddlers in Kindermusik classes to College masters students. Formally trained as a professional musician, she feels music is another great way to tell story.
Witnessing the joy children emit when they are learning, and the sparkle that comes into a little person’s eyes is contagious and what she loves best about story time. She also loves that it supports families and care-givers. “As a mother of eight I recognize there can be many tedious, hours involved in raising children. My hope is that story time can bring support, ideas and opportunities to connect with the little human in your life.”
When she is not at the Orem Library Kristine is playing the oboe, cooking, or telling stories to her own little people.
EJ Cáceres is a super-duper cool wife and a really awesome mother of 3 children. She loves books, music and outdoors adventures. She volunteered as a storyteller at Orem Public Library for many years, and now loves working here. She hopes to one day become a children’s book author.
You can see EJ storytell at the weekly Bilingual Storytime!
