Ancestry.com With more than 24,000 historical databases that include 5 billion names, Ancestry.com also allows users to use powerful tools to complete their own family trees. You can use Ancestry to search the Social Security Death Index, the US Census, and records from specific ethnic groups. The Orem Library's Ancestry subscription includes access to United Kingdom-specific genealogical information. This resource can only be used at the Orem Library using library computers. Heritage Quest Genealogy This online tool for genealogists and historians of all types allows powerful searching of the US Census from 1790-1930, access to a huge and expanding library of books and articles on genealogical names and places, and the ability to search records of freed slaves, court petitions, etc.

MyHeritage Library Edition is a genealogy database with billions of historical documents from over 48 countries and millions of historical photos, public records, indexes and additional resources.

Newspaper Source Provides cover-to-cover full text for 35 national & international newspapers. The database also contains selective full text for 375 regional (U.S.) newspapers. In addition, full text television & radio news transcripts are also provided. Newspapers are helpful when searching for an obituary, or other local information.

ProQuest Newsstand indexes 1,379 national and international newspapers, including the Deseret News, the Salt Lake Tribune, and the Wall Street Journal. The indexing covers not only complete bibliographic information but also companies, people, products, etc. 

Utah Newsearch indexes of ALL of Utah's newspaper archives from 2004 to current.  Each newspaper provides fully-searchable PDFs of the complete newspapers, which lets you see both photos and headlines. There is a two week delay.

About the City of Orem Library

The Orem Library is open Monday through Friday 9am until 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 6pm. We are closed Sundays and Holidays. Click here for a list of observed holidays.

If you need to return books outside of these hours, a 24-hour drive through book and media drop is located on the North side of the Library.

We are located at 58 North State Street in Orem, Utah at the north end of the City Center Complex (on the northeast corner of State and Center Streets). Parking is to the east of the library building and is accessed from 100 North. If you need assistance please call 229-7050.
