Cantorum is a small choral ensemble that performs sacred music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Although Cantorum is more often seen in concert than in an ecclesiastical setting, the name reflects the choir’s devotion to the choral music of the 15th-17th centuries, a time when the greatest composers in the Europe focused almost exclusively on choral music for the church.
For this particular concert, the ensemble will perform selections from "The Lamentations of Jeremiah" by Orlando de Lassus, a special work reserved solely for the Lent season. Come hear a choir whose Style and repertoire truly matches the wonderful Orem Library acoustic! More information on the choir can be found at www.cantorum.info.
